When I saw MERANTAU last year, I was greatly impressed by its fast action and the unique style of Indonesian martial arts on display. Since then, I have been looking forward to catching some more action movies from Indonesia.
Now the good news is: while waiting for THE RAID to be completed, another Indonesian action film is due for release soon. It is called TARUNG: CITY OF DARKNESS, and judging by its trailer, it looks to be another hard-hitting action-packed movie.
Synopsis (summarised from Wikipedia): The film tells the story of true friendship of four young men, in the face of the rigors of life, problems and challenges. They are Reno, Coky, David, and Galang, who grew up together in an orphanage. Reno has just been released from prison and gets attacked by a mysterious group of people who intend to kill him. When it becomes known who is behind the attack, David, Galang and Coky decide to take on the enemy, and a fierce fight ensues.
